homework #1 Monday

"Literature is full of patterns, and your reading experience will be much more rewarding when you can step back from the work, even while you're reading it, and look for those patterns." (Foster xiv)

This quote helps me the most because I have problems with taking that step back to analyze the passage. Often when I try to analyze a passage all of the terms get into a confusing jumbled mess. This passage is suggesting that you need to take a step back from the passage and pause in the center to analyze. I often read the whole passage first and do not take time to think about it and often times when I go back to think about the passage I forget some of the finer details.
