Blog#3 Meal as Communion
One of the most memorable meals as communion I can remember is Christmas dinner at my grandparents house. It is pretty much the same every year but it is the only time that the whole family is together at one time. No one would eat breakfast because at lunch we would have breakfast and lunch together and that way no one would have to cook for a few days because of all of the left overs. So after the horrendous meal was cooked fit for a king, and there was no place to sit around the table my uncle would say the blessing. He is a pastor and as far as I know has always blessed the family table. After that everyone would get a plate of food, and going around the table was alot like a church dinner because you had to wait in line except we are not formal. It is ok to reach over someone else to get your biscuit because the table was round and to say the least it is like being in a hot sardine can. So after I conquered the table getting may favorite Christmas food; turkey gravy and a biscuit I headed to the couch with my cousins and my grandpa to eat and talk. We talk across the room and have our ow. side conversations but we do not get too loud everything comes up from politics, to cows, to school, to health, you name it we have probably talked about it. After we ate we continue talking and open gifts.
