Yes and no I do think she has some Christ like features although not really enough to  be a Christ like figure in this book. In The Poisionwood Bible the Kilangan people for a time are considered by the Price family to be the bad guys or unholy and below them and Ruth May is the first to make contact by teaching the children how to play "Mother May I?" She is also the most innocent and forgiving and is very literal about things. However she lost the battle with the snake bite and the serpernt is often known as the tempter this would have made more sense as a Christ figure if she would have made a miraculous recovery and died of something else. (Kingsolver 166) However when she died her mother covered her with a shroud made out of mosquito nets. So overall I think there is enough evidence to support either side that she both is and isnt a Christ like figure.
